The Bending Oaks Ranch Barn Cat Project provides stray and abandoned cats with humane care, veterinary treatment, spay/neuter services and a path toward a better life—whether that’s a loving home or a new job as a working barn cat in the Texas Hill Country.
The Barn Cat Project: Compassion in Action
At our park, we believe in caring for the space we share—including the animals that find their way to us. What began as a challenge with stray and abandoned cats has become The Barn Cat Project, our commitment to humane, effective population control and care.
Through our Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return/Adopt (TNVR/A) program, we work alongside local animal welfare partners and veterinary clinics to ensure every cat we rescue is safely trapped, health-checked, spayed or neutered, and vaccinated.
Once rehabilitated, we aim to place these cats in loving homes or match them with local farms and ranches as working barn cats. As natural hunters, working cats provide a natural, chemical-free way to keep rodent populations in check, protecting grain, feed, and property.
We share this initiative so our guests know what to expect during their stay. While we know not every visitor is a cat lover, we take pride in maintaining a healthy, humanely managed environment that reflects our values of kindness and stewardship.
Thank you for supporting our efforts to build a safer, more compassionate community for creatures big and small.
MEET THE BARN CATS
Every cat who enters the Bending Oaks Ranch Barn Cat Project has a story. Some arrive as strays, some have been abandoned, and some are simply born into circumstances they didn’t choose. Here you can follow their journey from rescue and recovery to the day they find a home—or a job.
The Six Pack
IN CARE • BOTTLE BABIES
Six tiny kittens recently became some of the youngest members of the Barn Cat Project. At only days old, they require around-the-clock bottle feeding, warmth and careful monitoring while they grow strong enough for their first veterinary care.
Their story is just beginning. We’ll be sharing their progress as they grow, develop their personalities and eventually prepare for loving homes.

Help Their Story Continue
Rescue doesn’t end when a cat is brought to safety. Food, formula, veterinary exams, vaccinations, parasite treatment, spay/neuter surgery, and recovery care all come before a cat is ready for its next chapter.
Sponsoring a Barn Cat helps the Bending Oaks Ranch Barn Cat Project provide that care. Whether you help feed a bottle baby or contribute toward complete veterinary care, every sponsorship goes directly toward helping cats in our program.
